Global Energy Initiative offers internships for graduate and undergraduate students and recent grads. The objective of our internship programs are to: a) enhance interns’ professional skills b) expand interns' understanding of current environmental issues and energy challenges at the international level; c) provide interns with insight into the work we do here at Global Energy Initiative, and a glimpse into the atmosphere of the non-profit sector; d) to give our interns an opportunity to implement new ideas and create new projects to help make a difference in the world.   Download Internship Form Here

Editorial Assistant, Global Energy Affairs Magazine

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

Global Energy Initiative - a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization - is seeking an Editorial Assistant Intern to work for our magazine, Global Energy Affairs.  The Editorial Assistant will utilize their writing, editing, and social media expertise to help in all aspects of our magazine's publication and promotion. 

 

The expected responsibilities of our Editorial Assistant will include:

  • Researching and monitoring the latest global developments in the field of sustainable energy
  • Writing daily energy briefs
  • Expanding our magazine's social media base
  • Updating our magazine's facebook and twitter on a daily basis
  • Contributing to the article content of our magazine's website
  • Providing innovations to our magazine's format, layout and covered topics, as well as to our magazine website
  • Researching trending topics so as to better engage with and expand our audience
  • Corrsponding with our external authors, most of whom are well-established and highly respected academic and business professionals

Other opportunities as an Editorial Assistant will include assisting in updating our website and sharing your ideas in promoting the Global Energy Initiative brand. During the internship you will also have opportunities to learn about and hone your skills in all aspects of an international nonprofit organization operation: 1) event planning and outreach, 2) research & publishing, 3) communications and marketing, (4) funding and membership gaining, (5) branding, etc

 

The qualifying candidate should possess the following:

  • Commitment to the mission and goals of Global Energy Initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Creative abilities and resourcefulness
  • Advanced research, proofreading and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Background in energy, sustainability and environment field is preferable
  • Knowledge of social media networking
  • A bachelor's degree or in the process of working toward an advanced degree

 

We are looking for someone who can commit to 20-25 hours a week. This immediately available position is initially for 3 months and will expand based on performace. This position is a great opportunity to be a part of a mission driven international organization while working with and learning from the experience of a senior nonprofit executive in all aspects of the operations of nonprofit organizations.

Assistant Program Coordinator, Global Energy Initiative

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

Global Energy Initiative - a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization - is seeking a Program Coordinator Intern to assist in the implementation and outreach of the various programs of our organization. The selected intern will be primarily involved with communications and outreach for various projects of the organization.  

The expected responsibilities of our Program Coordinator will include:

  • Assisting in updating our website and social media platforms
  • Communicating with high-level academics and business professionals with whom we would like to see attend and/or speak at our Conference
  • Assisting with the development of our conference program and materials
  • Liaising with the event vendors, partners, and other constituents
  • Representing Global Energy Initiative at different meetings and events

During the internship you will also have opportunities to learn about and hone your skills in all aspects of an international nonprofit organization operation: 1) event planning and outreach, 2) research 3) communications and marketing, (4) funding and membership gaining, (5) branding, etc

 

The qualifying candidate should possess the following:

  • Commitment to the mission and goals of Global Energy Initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Creative abilities and resourcefulness
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Advanced research, proofreading and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Background in energy, sustainability and environment field is preferable
  • Knowledge of social media networking and website maintenance programs or even coding, all preferable
  • A bachelor's degree or in the process of working toward an advanced degree

 

We are looking for someone who can commit to 20-25 hours a week. This immediately available position is initially for 3 months, with the possibly of continuation. This position is a great opportunity to be a part of a mission driven international organization while working with and learning from the experience of a senior nonprofit executive in all aspect of a nonprofit organization operations.
